Wasp Nest Removal in Louth, Lincolnshire and Surrounding Villages

Biology

The Queen wasp hides in a warm place over winter before building a new nest in the Spring, laying thousands of eggs. The workers hatch and continue to build the nest bigger and bigger. Some nests can quickly grow over the summer months, up to 10,000 wasps until they become a real, dangerous problem, attacking anyone who goes near.

We have a fast response and our treatment of the nest works very quickly to kill off the nest and all wasps.

Signs of Wasps

You will see wasps flying in and out of a hole in your house or a spot in your garden, hedge or bank.

If it is in May or June its highly unlikely to be wasps but Honey Bees in your chimney or in a large swarm in your garden. We do not kill Honey Bees but try to relocate them to one of our Bee keeper friends who will look after them properly. See our separate

Old nests are never re-used by new wasps but we do offer a service to come back and remove the nest once everything has died within it. Nests left in situ can lead to other insects taking over them and causing a different infestation.

Wasp Nest Control Services from Pest Detective

Treatment

DIY treatments can result in you being stung several times, sometimes resulting in needing hospital treatment.  Wasps nests are not always visible and can sometimes be formed in roofs, air bricks or anywhere the wasps can gain access to and they feel safe.  Sometimes in lofts, the large nests can be heard and seen. If the nest is not visible, DIY treatments used within the general area will not work! It is impossible to tell how vicious and defensive the nest will be so you should always have the best safety equipment. Some people can have severe reactions to stings especially if they are multiple that can often lead to hospital admission.

We are fully trained in wasp nest treatment and removal to safely carry out the work using the best chemicals that offer a very effective treatment that rarely needs a return call. In fact we offer a free recall to the same nest, all at competitive prices.

Wasp Nest Treatment FAQ

Can I treat a nest myself?

A Yes some small nests between May and June that are visible can be treated yourself with shop bought products but there is always a risk that the wasps will come out aggressively and sting you numerous times. Especially as nests grow and there becomes more wasps that will aggressively protect their home.

I can’t see the nest they are just going into a hole in the wall can I treat it?

If you can’t see the nest it is not worth risking yourself with amateur products as the nest may not be anywhere near the entrance hole so you will have wasted your money!

Is it dangerous to treat a nest?

Yes, it is! We do not go near a nest without full protective beekeepers suit on. Some amateur products can excite and incite the nest to be aggressive. If you get stung several times it can put your body into a severe shock and or swelling of body parts that will need emergency hospital treatment.

Do wasps return to the old nest the following year?

No they never use the same nest again but you can find other insects will take it over and you may have a different  kind of infestation if the nest is left.
